Event #1 – October 19, 2019 EngiVEX HS/MS Tower Takeover Tournament (46838C only)

Its the first event for Rebel Alliance Robotics and Team Major Trouble in the 2019-2020 season Tower Takeover!  This is a combined middle school/high school event (event page).  This will be held at Grand Blanc High School, Tartoni Center at 12500 Holly Rd. here in Grand Blanc.  The event has room for 32 teams, with 22 currently registered.  Its early in the season, so lots of teams will still be learning the competition for this year and many designs are early, if not prototypes.  This makes it lots of fun as there are lots of questions and team interactions as they try things and learn.  We will see many familiar faces in the EngiNERDS teams, Cranbrook, Carmen Ainsworth, Notre Dame, Heritage Christian and Riptide.  Our local friends at Team 2337 The EngiNERDS host this event and has been received well, and there is nothing better to force you to be ready than schedule an early event.  This will be our first showing at EngiVEX and we are looking forward to a great day.

Event #0 – EngiVEX VRC HS/MS Turning Point Tournament, Grand Blanc High School

Event #0 is the tournament hosted by our friends at the EngiNERDS, FIRST team 2337 here in Grand Blanc. The full schedule for the event is available at the event website. We are planning to attend as spectators to learn more about the competition this year. It is scheduled to run from 7:30am to 6pm, however you do not need to be there the full time. Qualification rounds are scheduled to run from 9am until 3pm, with lunch from 12-1. Finals rounds are scheduled from 3:15pm to 5pm, with awards at 5. For those of you new to Vex robotics, this is a great chance to see an actual competition and understand what its all about. For all of us, it’s a chance to observe what works and what doesn’t, and begin sizing up our competition. See you there!
